Classic Savings

In order to open an account, verification of identity is required by law. If the verification cannot be done personally at any of DenizBank branches, there is the possibility to conduct it over the post via PostIdent-Coupon at Deutsche Post AG.

  1. How Can I Open a Classic Savings Account at DenizBank?

    You can open your Savings Account by post or in one of our branches.

  2. When and How Do I Receive My Documents to Open an Account?

    You can request the documents by calling us at the toll-free number: 0800 4 88 66 00. You can also request the documents via our homepage. Please verify your identity with the signed application form and money laundering form by PostIdent-Coupon of Deutsche Bank AG and send it back to us.When all documents arrive at DenizBank, we open a Clearings Account for you and send you the confirmation by post.

    However, the confirmation can only be sent after we receive the Post-Ident-Coupon by mail.Legitimacy confirmation of the PostIdent-Coupon is the advice of the receipt (der IDENT-BRIEF) that you will need to sign at the post office.

    If you want to open the account personally in the branch office, the documents will be filled in together with the branch employee and the legitimacy will be performed by a valid ID (identity card or passport).

  3. Why Do I Need a Clearing Account?

    This account is used for the transactions of your time deposits. In addition to the Clearing Account, you can keep a Daily Due Deposit Account or Time Deposit Accounts. From your Clearing Account, you can only transfer money to an external Reference Account. The Clearing Account is free of charge.

Clearing Account

  1. What Is a Clearing Account?

    This account is used for the transactions of your time deposits. In addition to the Clearing Account, you can keep a Daily Due Deposit Account or Time Deposit Accounts. From your Clearing Account, you can only transfer money to an external Reference Account. The Clearing Account is free of charge. 

    You need to specify your Reference Account number when you open your Clearing Account.Then it will be deposited for you.

  2. How Can I Open a Clearing Account?

    The Clearing Account is automatically created for you when you apply for a Classic Savings Account.

  3. Are There Any Fees for the Clearing Account?

    The Clearing Account is free of charge. Transfers are only made onto the Reference Account and are also free of charge.

  4. How High Is the Interest Rate on the Clearing Account?

    The Clearing Account does not accumulate any interest as it only serves for handling the transactions.

  5. Can I Change My Reference Account?

    The Reference Account information can be changed in written form via post.

Daily Due Deposit Account

  1. What Is a Daily Due Deposit Account?

    The Daily Due Deposit Account is a  Deposit Account of DenizBank. With it, you benefit from the attractive interest rates of DenizBank and the daily accessibility of your deposits.

  2. How Can I Open a Daily Due Deposit Account?

    You can open your Daily Due Deposit Account either in one of our branches, or with a signed Application form  sending to us by mail or fax.  

  3. How High Is the Interest Rate with a Daily Due Deposit Account?

  4. What Are the Fees Associated with a Daily Due Deposit Account?

    DenizBank offers you the Daily Due Deposit Account free of charge.

  5. How Many Daily Due Deposit Accounts Can I Open?

    DenizBank gives you the opportunity to open only one Daily Due Deposit Account.

  6. How High Is the Minimum Deposit for a Daily Due Deposit Account?

    The minimum deposit is 100,- €.

  7. How Do I Pay My Deposit Amount?

    As soon as you have transferred your money to a Clearing Account, you can inform us in writing that you would like to apply to open a Daily Due Deposit Account and let us know how much you would like to invest. If you already have a Daily Due Deposit Account, the desired deposit amount can be transferred there to this account.

  8. Can I Complete Domestic and International Transfers from My Daily Due Deposit Account?

    You can only make transfers to your Reference Account. As a Classic Account customer you can only make transfers by a written notification  to  your Reference Account. A transfer to other external banks is not possible without a change in the Reference Account.

  9. When Is the Interest Credited to My Daily Due Deposit Account?

    On 31.12 every year, the accumulated interest will be credited onto your Daily Due Deposit Account.

  10. How Can I Change My Reference Account?

    The Reference Account information can be witha written notification  via post.

Time Deposit Account

  1. What Is a Time Deposit Account?

    The Time Deposit Account is a  Deposit Account of DenizBank. A specific amount (minimum amount 1.000,- €) is invested for a fixed term with fixed interest rates for the whole term. At maturity the interest will be credited to your account. That’s how you can make your money work at DenizBank on attractive terms for itself.

  2. How Can I Open a Time Deposit Account?

    In order to open a Time Deposit Account, you need to have a Clearing Account at DenizBank.  As soon as the money is on your Clearing Account, you can let us know  with a written notification that you would like to open a Time Deposit Account and inform us about the duration of your term deposit.

  3. How Long Are the Terms of Time Deposit Accounts?

    DenizBank offers following terms for your Time Deposit Account:

    • 3 Months
    • 6 Months
    • 9 Months
    • 12 Months
    • 18 Months
    • 24 Months
    • 32 Months
    • 48 Months
    • 60 Months
    • 72 Months
    • 84 Months
    • 96 Months
    • 108 Months
    • 120 Months
  4. What Is the Minimum Deposit at Time Deposit Accounts?

    The minimum deposit is 1.000,- €.

  5. How Do I Pay My Deposit Amount?

    You can transfer the investment capital  to your Clearing Account or pay the amount cash in DenizBank branch.

  6. Where Is the Accumulated Interest Credited?

    The accumulated interest will be deposited to your Time Deposit Account at maturity (at the end of the term).

  7. What Do I Need to Consider When Opening a Time Deposit Account?

    For opening a Time Deposit Account you need to have a Payment Account at DenizBank. The deposit that you want to invest on your Time Deposit Account has to be already on your master or Daily Due Deposit Account.

    It should also be noted that you must specify the agreements at the end of term. The choices are:

    • Payment at maturity
      The amount will be transferred to your Payment Account at maturity
    • Re-invest of interests and capital
      The interests and capital will be reinvested for the same term with the interest rate applicable at the time of maturity.
    • Reinvest your capital
      The capital will be reinvested for the same term with the interest rate applicable at the time of maturity. The interests will be transferred to your Payment Account.
  8. How Many Time Deposit Accounts Can I Open?

    You can open an unlimited number of Time Deposit Accounts.

  9. What Do I Need to Do at the End of the Term?

    In principle, at the end of your term, your Time Deposit is transferred to your Payment Account together with the interests.

    In the case of "re-investment of your interest and capital" the interest and capital that you are entitled to is invested for the same term with the currently applicable interest rate to maturity again. In the case of "re-investment of your capital" the interest you are entitled to is transferred to your Payment Account whereas your capital is re-invested for the same term with the current applicable interest rate.

    If you are not interested in a re-investment, your will need to notify us in writing.

  10. Is Your Interest Rate Guaranteed?

    The agreed interest rate of a Time Deposit is guaranteed for the duration of the term.

  11. What Are the Fees for a Time Deposit Account?

    Time Deposit Account is free of charge.

  12. How Can I Cancel My Time Deposit Account before Maturity?

    Premature resolution has to be sent  in a written notification , by mail or post Service Center of DenizBank (Münchener Straße 7, 60329 Frankfurt am Main)  or has to be carried out in one of our branches in person.

  13. What Is the Interest Rate at Premature Cancellation of my Time Deposit Account?

    A premature cancellation of your Time Deposit Account leads to the loss of the entire interest amount and is charged with a cancellation fee of 10,- €.
